Competitive Performance - without compromise.

Ethical, compassionate horsemanship isn’t just a priority of Meadowlark Equestrian, it is the foundation of Mariah’s training method. Mariah believes the highest athletic potential of every horse can only be achieved once the nervous system is regulated, and the body and mind can operate with the suppleness and neuroplasticity to develop—and truly learn—bio-mechanically correct movement. This training method is an investment in your horse’s long term mental and physical health, and sets you up for competitive success in any discipline.

Mariah grew up in Colorado, caring for the family horses on a small, private farm, and showing locally in various Western disciplines. While getting her BSc in Biology at Western Washington University, Mariah competed in IHSA and local H./J shows, working for and training under dressage trainer Kim Barber and H/J trainer Suzy Huizenga. After a few years trying and failing to keep horses as “just a hobby,” Mariah quit her job, shipped her thoroughbred to Pennsylvania, and began a working student position for Samantha and Pierre St. Jacques (Olympic eventer and International Grand Prix dressage rider, respectively). After almost a year of this intensive educational experience, family brought Mariah back to the West coast, where she managed the beautiful York Hill Stables for three years, became a certified Large Animal Massage Therapist, and finally, started Meadowlark Stables.
